“Hope for a 2 year old boy”

A two-year-old boy in remission sadly relapsed after eight months with a very rare type of cancer. His mother reached out to MyChild’sCancer in her mission to find the best treatment for him. Our researchers tried to find a doctor or clinical trial, anywhere in the world, specializing in relapse of this type of cancer, but without luck. We decided to publish this story on our Facebook page, and ask the global community for life saving leads. This campaign reached over 40,000 people. A response came in from a woman in Germany who had a relapse of the same kind of cancer. She shared that an unexpected drug had helped her. We forwarded the treatment information to the mother who took it to the boy’s doctor. Her son has been taking this medication and responding well to it. This is a community connecting at its best.

"An 18 year olds ability to walk again"

An 18-year-old girl was diagnosed with a tumor in her spine, and the family had to make a decision whether or not to undergo a highly complex surgery with risks for major, lifelong complications. MyChild’sCancer researcher team reached out to two world experts who suggested an alternate treatment that included a specific kind of radiation that wasn’t available in her homecountry. The family flew to New Jersey for proton therapy, and six months later she was cancer-free, with no irreversible damage to her internal organs because of the alternative treatment MyChild’sCancer found. She went back home to study for her high school final exams.

"Hope for a 2 year old"

Bringing Hope to a 2-Year-Old: A toddler in remission faced a rare cancer relapse. His desperate mother turned to MyChild’sCancer for help. Unable to find a specialized treatment, we shared their story on Facebook, reaching 40,000 people globally. A woman in Germany, who had overcome a similar relapse, suggested a life-saving drug. The information was passed to the boy's doctor, and he's now responding well to the medication. This is community connection at its best.
